Our idea has received recognition, winning 1st place at the Startup Hub x Uken Games Mobile Gamification Competition and we’re currently competing in regional semifinals of the Global Social Venture competition

Interested in helping out? Here’s what we’re looking for:

* App Development Experience for iOS or Android, or both.

* Back-end development (ex. experience with Node.js, Heroku, Parse etc.)

* Database engines (ex. MySQL, Postgresql, MongoDB).

* Git, Agile

* Bonus: Front-end development (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and Python.

Mobile APL App Demo Night (Submissions Welcome)

On Thursday April 17 at 6pm the University of Toronto’s Mobile Applications Lab is hosting its second annual App Demo Night in SF1105.  A select set of finalist apps will be demonstrated and a single App of the Year will be selected by a panel of judges.
If you or your students have created an app and are interested in submitting it for inclusion for the event, please send the following information to Prof. Parham Aarabi (email parham@ecf.utoronto.ca) by April 2, 2014:
1. App Name
2. Some App Screenshots
3. A brief description of your app, including any connections with ongoing University research and the names of all students/staff/Professors who were involved with the app
Please note that this competition is only open to apps that have been actively worked on at UofT in the 2013-2014 academic year.
Also, everyone is welcome to join us in SF1105 on April 17 at 6pm.

Engineering & Computer Science Library’s Hack-DesignFest

The Engineering & Computer Science Library’s Hack-DesignFest was held February 18th-19th, 2014.  Despite a snowstorm descending upon the UofT on the the first morning,a group of ambitious and excited students ventured to the MADLab at Gerstein Science Information Centre to create APPs that educated parents on children’s dental health issues. Students ranged from first year to graduate students, representing the fields of Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering Science and the iSchool.
